On Wednesday, August 17, a fire completely destroyed a portion of the shopping complex on Ligali Ayorinde Street in the Victoria Island neighborhood of Lagos State.
The fire began early on Wednesday morning in one of the stores where flammable products including tires and car batteries were kept.
Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, the South-West Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency, acknowledged the event and stated that after a battle between state and federal fire service personnel, the fire was brought under control.
According to Channels Television, the inferno's cause has not yet been determined. It raged for hours before being put out.
